As we continue to count down to the GRAMMYs this week, it’s great to scour the internet and see artists in different settings. Last month, Danyel Smith, new editor-in-chief of Billboard magazine, sat down with the Fantastic Four of the Atlantic Records roster: Lupe Fiasco, Estelle, Janelle Monae and B.o.B for a segment called Game Changers, which is being billed as the first in a series of sitdowns with those blazing a different path in the music industry.
All four are GRAMMY nominees (Monae and B.o.B with multiple noms this year) and have made a distinct name for themselves for not being cookie-cutter artists. During the too short segment (eight minutes and change), the four break down why they didn’t go the conventional route, as well as what they feel they’re offering the public.
Just a refreshing interview. It’s good to see Danyel in her element (both at Billboard and with these artists). Can’t wait for more Game Changers. Take a look at the clip after the jump. Enjoy.
